Allergic to God
2Timothy 3
Difficult Times Ahead
1-4 Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God.
It's too late to wonder how or why. What seemed like happening overnight has taken several decades. We have a generation of people that have been taught to believe the very opposite of what is true. That God is something to dislike or even hate. The bible says to have nothing to do with these people. It also says the greatest commandment is to love. I choose love.
I remember when I was younger, I had allergies so bad. The doctor said that I needed shots to make the allergies go away. Just a small amount of the very thing that makes me sick in bigger doses and I would not have the reaction that I once had. If we are to help this new generation get over their allergies to God, we have to give them small little doses of the word of God and show the love of God until they no longer have a negative reaction to God.
Who can you give a little medicine to today? What text can you send? What call can you make? What message can you leave on a mirror? What conversation can you have with a neighbor? What random act of kindness can you perform?
