Built for The World-
I have a certain coffee cup that I use every day. It’s my favorite because it keeps my coffee hot longer which is good because I do a lot of reading in the morning time. But, today because of my broken foot I grabbed whatever was closest. It also will keep my coffee hot longer but because it’s my son’s it has stickers on it. I noticed one of the stickers said “Built for The World”. It got me to thinking we are also built for this world. Our bodies are built to handle almost anything this world throws at us. We have a brain that can grow and figure out things. We have a respiratory system that allows us to breath and filter out bad things in the air. We have skin that protects us from bacteria and other bad things. We have legs to get us places, hands to grab things, eyes to see things, hair to cool us, ok so we may not have as much as we once did. Ears to hear, tongue to taste and so on. Yes, we are built for this world too. There is one more thing we have that we really don’t think about that much. You know that voice that we hear in our head. That thing that is really us. OUR SOUL. Our soul is not built for this world. It is built for heaven. No wonder we have such a hard time with our soul being comfortable in this world. Our soul can get hurt very easily here. It does not understand why bad things happen to good people. It does not understand why people have to hurt, suffer and die in this world. Our soul is not comfortable here so we wrestle with it constantly. It can also be manipulated by the enemy. One way our soul is like our body is that if we don’t continue to breath, we can’t stay alive. Our soul needs to breath in God’s word every day to stay alive in Christ. This will give us the power to fight anything this world or the enemy throws at us. When you stop breathing you start dying. The same is true for our souls, if you stop breathing in the word of God you start dying inside. You know how when you take a deep breath in and let it out you feel more relaxed? I urge you to take a deep breath of God’s word in today and when you blow it out share it with someone else.
