No More Excuses

No More Excuses

Sometimes the only change we need to make in our lives is to stop making excuses. We make excuses for why we can’t exercise, eat less, read more, laugh more, spend less, sleep more, sleep less, work harder, relax more etc. I have never seen a worthy pursuit that a good excuse couldn’t destroy.  The thing is we become our excuses. You say well I’m too tired, I’m too big, I’m too small, I’m too old, I’m not old enough, good enough, rich enough, bold enough, worthy enough, and on and on. Your brain hears these words and starts putting into motion those things that have to happen so you can become what you say you are. But you can change your thoughts and in doing so change your life. When you start thinking those things like I’m not…change it to I’m not yet but I am getting better. At that point your brain says “ok I’m changing the desires of your heart so you can get better at that”. You also get better by doing! Do things. Try things. Say yes more than no. DO NOT ever again say God why are you not helping me get better? He has provided inspiration of thousands of books, songs, movies and TV shows to help guide you to where and or who you need to be. He inspired this.  I know of this one book in particular. It’s a best seller. It’s been around a long time. It’s the one with the red letters in it. You should try reading it. Oh yeah that’s right you don’t have time or you don’t understand it. Did you know there are over 50 versions of the Bible in English? Surely you can find one you can understand. I like The Message Bible myself.  As far as time goes, I bet if you had something important to do you would get up a little earlier than normal to do it. So, make it a normal thing to get up 30 minutes earlier. It’s not that hard!
