Shine Your Light

Everything I am hearing or reading right now seems to be about the same thing. Letting your light shine. Sometimes I feel like my light is on a dimmer switch. It gets turned up at church and then down for most of the rest of the week. If I change the type switch to a regular on off switch what happens when it’s completely off? At least with a dimmer it shines a little. How do I keep it on all the time full strength for all to see?  I know sin is what dims your light. I know we are all sinners. I know I can’t live a sin free life without God’s help. I know the world will bring you down and try to keep you there if you let it by watching certain shows, movies and the news. By what you read and see online or in a book. Be intentional about what you read, watch and hear. Don’t give the Devil a crack to squeeze into your mind. I’m not telling you this because I have it all figured out. I say all this to myself as much as to you. Sin is a daily struggle for us all. We can do things that help fight off the Devil and sin. Listen to good positive things like music and podcast. Read good books on how to get better or help others. Watch shows that lift you up. Be intentional! When you are doing all these things your light will shine bright and you will use it to help others. Smile at people to show you have no hate in your heart. Greet people and smile. Do something nice for someone else today. Volunteer somewhere. Call, text or email somebody to check on them. Do a couple of these things and soon it will become natural and second nature to do it. So, increase your light and let it shine for all to see.

Live Better
