“Dedicated to the Lord.”
When God was giving Moses instructions as to how He wanted
the Tabernacle, Priest and everything to do with it He was very specific. At
one point He told them to make a pure gold piece of jewelry to be worn on Aron’s
turban that said “Dedicated to the Lord”. After reading this I could not help but
stop and think on that phrase. I wondered am I dedicated to the Lord? What does that
look like in today’s world? I read the word every day. I pray every day pretty
much. I claim to be a Christian. But am I dedicated? Dedicated in the Meriam
Webster dictionary means you are devoted to a cause, idea, person or purpose. Devoted
means you have strong affection or attachment to someone or something. So, I
took a close look at myself to see if I meet the definition of being dedicated
to the Lord. He is the first thing I think about most days and read about to learn
more about Him. I listen to music that is about Him. I spend most Sunday’s
worshiping Him. I try to live the way He has shown for us to live. In today’s
world I might be considered dedicated. I wonder have we gotten watered down
over the centuries though? I might be living for Him but, would I die for Him? If He
is what we say He is, why wouldn’t we do whatever is needed? Not that such a
thing will ever come up but do I have the dedication to stand firm in the face
of danger? Where are you in your faith? I
think we should always evaluate ourselves to see where we are spiritually. Where
are you?
