This spoke to me today.

11Anyone who claims to live in God’s light and hates a brother or sister is still in the dark. It’s the person who loves brother and sister who dwells in God’s light and doesn’t block the light from others. But whoever hates is still in the dark, stumbles around in the dark, doesn’t know which end is up, blinded by the darkness.

1 John 2:11 MSG

It is easy to hate in today's world. If you watch TV or read social media they actually seem to encourage it. It's like someone wants us all to be against each other. We must remember Jesus said "Above all else love one another". He also said" Love your neighbor as you love yourself". All this is easy to say but hard to do I know. Especially when we are being targeted. When it has become the norm to say the truth is what is opposite of what is true. My first instinct is to want to fight. To rise up against these people that are rising up against us. With a lot of thought I think I prefer to go the same route as Dr. Martin Luther King. He faced people that hated him for no reason also and by showing love instead of hate he won over people of that time as well as future generations. If we claim to be in the light we must live a light filled life showing God's love to those that hate us.
