Why Have You Forgotten Me? When Jesus was on the cross, at one point He asked God “Why have you forgotten me?” I believe God was letting the rest of us know that it’s all about His timing and not ours. If He even let His own Son that was dying on the cross think that He had forgotten about Him, who are we to complain about Him not hearing us? It’s not that He doesn’t hear or doesn’t care. Its about when the time is right. I have gotten mad at different times in my life when I felt He was not doing anything to help me in my despair. Sometimes when He is making us better, He allows us to get to a place where we have to let go of pride, fear, anger or shame to make room for Him. To make room for the better things ahead. To get our minds prepared for the rain coming. The rain of blessings. He hears you and you can count on the fact that He will always do what is best for you.   Angles on Earth Being married to a nurse I know first hand what nurses go through. She no longer works directly with patients but I have heard about the patients that touched her heart, made her mad or didn’t make it.   Everybody knows nurses are important. Everybody knows they have a hard job but most people don’t realize the physical and mental toll that the job takes on nurses. When most of us have a bad day at work that means we didn’t get the sale we hoped for or maybe we didn’t get the promotion we wanted. When a nurse goes to work and has a bad day it could mean they watched a young mother or father of the children they became friends with died. They get to work to find that kind old man or lady they have been getting to know bed is empty. Maybe the patient they have spent so much time trying to help and have given more time to because they thought they needed it now has accused them of neglect because they are confused or disoriented. But you still have to be inv...
Air It Out - On New Year’s Eve at midnight, I wanted to make sure that 2020 was gone for good so I opened up all the doors and windows to let the 2020 air out of the house and 2021 air in. I could feel the breeze moving through the house and pictured all the bad stuff floating out with it. A little superstitious I know but that’s how bad it’s been.   In 2020 I lost my sister to cancer and friends to COVID. I watched on TV the worst come out of people in this country. Got hurt for the first time in my life and spent three months on the sofa. Yes, I’m glad to see 2020 gone! It got me to thinking though. Maybe I need to do the same thing with my mind. Open everything up let the bad out and the good in. It’s amazing the trash we collect in our minds. So, I prayed that God would remove the bad and fill me with the Holy Spirit. A new year is for new beginnings. The person you have been you can do away with right now. You can choose to let go of things like anger, hate, fear and...
