I Love the Mornings- I love the mornings. Every new sunrise is a reminder that today can be better than yesterday. I can make better decisions than I did yesterday. I can choose to go in a different direction. Yes, I love mornings because it gives me hope of a better life. A better life because I don’t have to keep doing the same things over and over again. I can be better today than I was yesterday by making better decisions. If I do make better decisions everyday then there is a compounding effect that happens. By the end of the year I will be many times better off than I was at the beginning. Small changes everyday will make a big difference over time. Live Better

2 Corinthians 4:16-18 So we’re not giving up. How could we! Even though on the outside it often looks like things are falling apart on us, on the inside, where God is making new life, not a day goes by without his unfolding grace. These hard times are small potatoes compared to the coming good times, the lavish celebration prepared for us. There’s far more here than meets the eye. The things we see now are here today, gone tomorrow. But the things we can’t see now will last forever. Live Better

Saturday (In a dark locked room the events of yesterday replay in Peter’s mind) I woke up this morning in disbelief of everything that happened yesterday. I am so ashamed that I didn't do anything to help Him. I can still see the nails being driven in his hands and feet. He suffered greatly! No man should go through that. I don’t know if they will come for the rest of us or not. I’m kind of lost right now. I don’t know what to do next. For the last three years I followed Him and saw so many miracles performed. I thought if He can do all that surely, He can save Himself. It was like He wanted to suffer like that. Like He had a mission or something. I should have fought for Him! But there were so many soldiers. Still I should have done something! I can’t believe I told Him I would lay down my life for Him and then I denied Him three times. I thought they would turn on me. What was it He said the other night? He said He was leaving and where He was going, I could not go. Was He tal...

The mind is a target The enemy attacks us every day with confusion. Confusion about who we are, what we believe and what we hear. This is a troubling time for many in the world. People are scared right now. How do we clear our minds? We have to go all in. Get off the fence! I have so many splinters on my backside from sitting on the fence that if I back up to a fire for warmth it would catch fire. You have got to know where you stand. Know what you believe. Don’t just go through the motions of going to church. It’s like a marriage. You will never be truly happy until you make you spouse a priority. That means focus on his or her happiness and in return I promise you will be happy too. So, focus on God. Go all in. Try making Him a priority for one week. You need to read, pray, reset your mind to Him and not you first. A transformation will take place I promise. You will start feeling great joy in your life. Don’t be a target for confusion! Clarity comes from knowing. Live Better!

Built for The World- I have a certain coffee cup that I use every day. It’s my favorite because it keeps my coffee hot longer which is good because I do a lot of reading in the morning time. But, today because of my broken foot I grabbed whatever was closest. It also will keep my coffee hot longer but because it’s my son’s it has stickers on it. I noticed one of the stickers said “Built for The World”. It got me to thinking we are also built for this world. Our bodies are built to handle almost anything this world throws at us. We have a brain that can grow and figure out things. We have a respiratory system that allows us to breath and filter out bad things in the air. We have skin that protects us from bacteria and other bad things. We have legs to get us places, hands to grab things, eyes to see things, hair to cool us, ok so we may not have as much as we once did. Ears to hear, tongue to taste and so on. Yes, we are built for this world too. There is one more thing we have ...

This spoke to me today. What handicap were you given that has turned out to be a gift from God? At one time in my life I questioned why I had it so good and some people that I loved seemed to always have something bad happening to them. I would pray for wisdom and God made sure I earned that wisdom. I have been through many things and so now I can speak the language of hurt and brokenness. Because of his grace and mercy I also speak the language of victory and overcoming. To God be the glory! 2 Corinthians 12:8-9 MSG 7-10 Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn’t think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me, My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My st...

Deep Heaven- It says in Ephesians 1:20 MSG that Christ was raised from the dead and set on a throne in "deep heaven". Today I know you are in deep heaven with Him. You hurt for months trying to get better. Your last days were hard. I can’t imagine the pain you were in. You were a fighter because the cancer that you originally had is not what killed you. My prayers changed from asking for complete healing to please give you a day with no pain to please take her lord. He answered my prayer and you went to deep heaven last night. I can picture in my mind the reunion you had with mom and dad. You were my rock! I will miss our conversations. I will miss your fried chicken during the holidays and the stories you would tell about mom and dad before I was born. Because of their ages you were more of a grandmother to my kids because your house was the special place, we all gathered for Christmas. You always put others first and helped us out when we needed it. Oh, if I can only liv...

This is it- My Dad had had a stroke and was bedridden for the last two years of his life. He had lost the ability to speak but on this particular day there was no mistake what he was saying. We had all gathered in my parent’s house to say goodbye to Dad. All the kids and grand kids were there in the living room where he stayed in his hospital bed. We knew it wasn’t going to be long. For some reason everyone had ended up in the kitchen next to the living room. Without realizing it we had left him alone even though we were just feet away. When we looked around the corner to check on him, the look in his eyes said it so clear “this is it”. We all rushed to his side and within seconds of us doing so he breathed his last breath. You too will get to that same moment one day and when you say “this is it”. What will go through your mind if nothing changes from right now? Will you be satisfied with what you have done in your life or will the last thing that goes through your mind be “thi...

MOTHERS I wanted to write something special for my wife on this Mother’s Day so I started thinking about what I could write that has not already been said. As usual I turn to God for answers and I thought of this. When God decided to send a son to this earth to save us, He could have just sent Him as a 30-year-old and let Him start preaching but no, God knew that Jesus needed a Mother. Someone to show Him what being human is. Someone to show Him unconditional love. Someone to be there when He went through the trials of life. To always say the things, He needed to hear at just the right time. To understand when no one else did. To wipe His tears, bandage His cuts and build His self-confidence. Someone to worry constantly about Him and pray constantly for Him. Someone that would gladly trad places with Him when He was being arrested, beaten, and hanging on that cross. Feeling every nail that went into His body and the torture of knowing that there was nothing she could do to help H...

Colors of Blessings Have you ever watched a video of someone that is color blind trying on the glasses that lets them see color for the first time? They are always overwhelmed and the tears start flowing as they look around and see things as they really are. You know people have tried to explain colors to them at some time but how can you imagine color if you’ve never seen it? Sometimes we can’t see the color in our lives because of things like depression or anxiety getting in the way? How many times have people tried to explain how they see something good about your situation or your life to you but because of your impediment you can’t see things the way they do? We have been blessed with so many beautiful colors in this world. What a shame it would be if we couldn’t see them. Each one of us should share the beautiful colors we see in each other’s lives. Colors of hope, happiness, family and all other blessings. My goal, my purpose is to be the one that gives the glasses that i...

Are there white people who are raciest? Yes. Are there black people who are raciest? Yes. What happened to George Floyd was murder and should be treated as such. The Government needs to make sure this doesn't happen again! But, we must not let a few people convince the majority of us that we hate each other! Of the 1100 people killed by police last year about 250 were black. There are 200 million more white people than black people. (200 million) If hate was a real problem, we would know it. I love my black friends! If you can’t say the same, I suggest you take a long hard look at yourself. If you disagree with me unfriend me. I don’t need or want you as a friend if you think you are better than anyone else. Am I perfect? NO! I am getting better though! Jesus said, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your passion and prayer and intelligence.’ This is the most important, the first on any list. But there is a second to set alongside it: ‘Love others as well as you love yourself. Li...

I want to understand. The events of the last week have been weighing heavy on my heart. I could not sleep well and my mind was all over the place. I kept thinking of how can we fix this? This has to stop! I called some of my black friends to have a conversation like no other we have ever had. I thought it would be hard but actually it was an easy conversation. I think because they knew my heart and why I wanted to know these things. I first asked why all the anger? Not for what happened last week but in general. This is what I heard. Most black people have been treated terribly by white people and especially the police. One of my friends that is a successful business owner said that he has had a pistol pointed at his head after being pulled over by the police because he fit a description of someone that had done something. He said the same thing has happened to his son as well and most black men can say the same. I know the statistics and I can see why this takes place but it’s s...

What if… ...we exhibited patience? ...we chose not to be offended? ...we quit taking everything so personally? ..we changed the degrading way we talk to others? ...we focused on what we did have in common? ...we chose the big picture? At the end of the day, the point of loving people we disagree with is unity. Whether the issue is petty or prominent, we can choose people first. Because if we, as followers of Jesus, want people to know our Savior and Lord the way we do, that’s where we have to start. Let’s represent Jesus well so that others want to know Him. And when they do, the Holy Spirit is quite capable of leading them to adjust any viewpoints that are inconsistent with His truth. The Bible App – How to love people you disagree with. Live Better

Allergic to God 2Timothy 3 Difficult Times Ahead 1-4 Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. It's too late to wonder how or why. What seemed like happening overnight has taken several decades. We have a generation of people that have been taught to believe the very opposite of what is true. That God is something to dislike or even hate. The bible says to have nothing to do with these people. It also says the greatest commandment is to love. I choose love. I remember when I was younger, I had allergies so bad. The doctor said that I needed shots to make the allergies go away. Just a small amount of the very thing that makes me sick in bigger doses and I would not have the reac...

You have no idea what God wants to do in your life. You are living such a small fraction of what you’re capable of doing. God’s dream for your life is enormous. He says, “I can do more than you can imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams.” God wants you to dream big. He wants you to use the imagination that he gave you because dreaming big honors God. It shows faith. It shows trust. You should base your dream not on what you think you can do, but on what you believe God can do. Live Better

But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard—things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely. Live Better

Strength is for service not status. Each one of us needs to look after the people around us, asking ourselves, “how can I help?” This spoke to me today during my quiet time. Some of you are strong. Good! This is for the rest of you who are not. Why have you gotten comfortable with your weakness? Why did you give up? We have all been given a SPIRIT OF POWER by GOD HIMSELF so why do you let someone or something block you from that power? Some show signs of strength but use it in such an insignificant way like being bossy or rude when you could use it for leadership and truthfulness. The time is coming when we will all need to be strong. Take a spiritual gifts test and see why you do the things you do. When you see what gifts, you have, realize that God gave those to you to be able to do your purpose in life. If He gave those to you, He wants you to use them for good. Think about what you learn and how you can use it in a better way to help others. You will feel tremendous joy when ...
